I had to get up early this morning to help my wife help her friend. They own a roller skating rink north of us. For whatever reason, we had to get there three hours before business to make sure the doors were unlocked. We turned on a few of the lights, powered up the public address system and cued up some music.
There was no reason for me to power up the arcade games. But who can miss a game of Skee-Ball or Ms. Pac-Man when the opportunity presents itself? Not me!
Turns out that we were opening the doors for a pre-business roller derby practice. Also turns out: I don’t listen to my wife when she tells me these things.
While the ladies were sweating it out on the wood rink floor, I took to taking photos with my Fujifilm X100F. I focused my time on capturing the things I always noticed when stepping into a roller rink: games and prizes; candy; the music; and of course, the skate rental booth.
